Hi Mates,

we at Trek Mates are arranging a Bike trek to Ratnagiri on this weekend 27-28-29th March 2009.

We will be riding on NH17 till ratnagiri on the first day and then will start back towards mumbai visitng places.

we will visit Purnagad, Ganpatipule, Jaygad, Marleshwar, ratnadurg.
the plans tend to change with our varying speed and time.

we will even try to visit other places like vijaydurg, bhagwati and malvan forts, Marine Aquarium and Museum, and other places around ratnagiri and dapoli.

We will be returning back on sunday night.

People who do not have bikes can join in as pillions.(depends on the availability of bikes. empty seats will be alloted on the first come first served basis.)

Its a TTMM trek.
Petrol fare will be divided into both the riders and other expenditure will be shred equally amongst all the participants.

"Shalimar" at Abdul Rehman Street(Bhendi Bazaar). Nice clean & authentic food. There are about 2/3 price tiers depending on the section you enter. It's value for money.
The Mumtaz Kabab is absolutely amazing, so are the Raan items. Quantity wise great too. The menu is big & interesting. Since its exposure on TV channels its become quiet a Cosmopolitan joint.
It is also known for its Faloodas(lot of variety), but I still prefer the Royal Falooda at Badshah's, Crawford Market.

It is a Chinese restaurant, alcohol served too. They have this weird name prawns I tried,

A very hot serving of prawns. I cannot exactly re-collect the ingredient but it is coated with some special masala, which when I asked they were reluctant to talk about. This is served with grated green chilli, garlic and onion.

Powai - good for nothing...
I go to powai vihar, there is one chatwala with a good looking cart

Matunga - Near Ruia college - ok ok franky and there is a gulshan cafe (i doubt about the name, but its good)

Colaba - some irani hotel ...it has hummus roll....yummm

bandra - elco market - ragda pattice and watermelon juice (my dinner when i go there for shopping)

Sion - Chole samosa in Guru kripa, we call it GK...our canteen

last but nt least - tripple schezwan in our college canteen (SIES)

Ride bike to Kondhana caves at Karjat..followed by a ride to Rajmachi via Lonavla route...stay at Rajmachi in tents.
Day2
Trek to Manoranjan and Shreevardhan followed by bike ride to Malavli and there from to Bhaje caves at Lohgadhwadi and return back to Mumbai.

Bandra heritage walk st stephens church

In 1853 St. Stephen's Church was consecrated at Bandra. Built on top of the mount it faces the Arabean Sea making it place of quite serenity.

Built in the pre-Independence era, the first foundation stone of the church was laid in the year 1845.
